Our Programs

Corning United is pleased to offer year-round soccer opportunities to all youth soccer players in our community. Our mission is to foster a love of the game while developing confidence and skills.

Winter Indoor Skills Development

Our winter skills season runs January through March. It is designed to complement our travel seasons with increased focus on speed, passing and gamesmanship. Sessions will place players in similarly-skilled age groups for drills and scrimmages. Evaluations will be held during the first week to determine placement. Go to Winter page.

Corning United offers families two options: Once-weekly sessions on Sundays at Corning-Painted Post Middle School, and twice-weekly sessions on Mondays and Thursdays at Severn Elementary School.

However, our travel teams U8 and up are geared for experienced players who have completed at least two seasons of and have excelled in recreational play in leagues like Chemung Valley Soccer Association (CVSA) and Corning YMCA. Players just starting out will have a better experience first playing in a rec league.

Players will be placed on teams according to ability assessed in pre-season skills workshops. Adjustments may be made as the season progresses. Whenever possible, players may be placed on a secondary team, as well as their primary team. So, there is an opportunity to experience “playing up” or to demonstrate leadership when “playing down.” All placements are at the discretion of our coaching staff.
